This is a laboratory-based position within the Vaccine Research and Development Analytical Development Group. The individual will perform routine sample testing, assay verification and qualification studies in support of early vaccine development. Assays include standard analytical separations (HPLC, gel electrophoresis, etc.) and spectroscopic techniques (UV-Vis, fluorescence).

responsibilities:
- Under direct supervision, the individual will perform routine sample testing in support of vaccine development. This includes preparing samples, setting up and running the instruments, and analyzing data.
- Document experiments, analyze data, and provide reporting using an electronic laboratory notebook in accordance with company/GCLP requirements.
- With guidance, the individual will execute assay routine analysis of vaccine candidates.
- With guidance, draft and revise laboratory methods and reports.
- Plan daily workflow to complete the tasks/experiments outlined by the supervisor.
- The individual is expected to contribute and participate in general laboratory maintenance activities (such as buffer preparation, reagent formulations, maintenance of equipment, managing laboratory waste).
qualifications:
Required:
- BS or MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline
- Technical proficiencies in liquid chromatography (HPLC/UPLC) and spectroscopy (UV/VIS, Fluorescence)
- 1-2 years of hands on HPLC experience in professional lab environment
- Experience in ELN Systems (electronic lab notebook)
- Experience entering data in LIMS or similar systems
- Direct experience in the pharma or biotech industry
- Experience working in a highly regulated environment
- Previous experience with characterization of biomolecules
