responsibilities:
- Liaison Management: Serve as the primary interface between R&D personnel, external vendors, and internal service organizations to coordinate equipment maintenance and repair.
- Asset Lifecycle Administration: Oversee the onboarding, calibration, and decommissioning of lab equipment, ensuring all administrative steps are completed with precision.
- Work Order Oversight: Receive incoming service requests to generate and process work orders on demand using the IBM Maximo system.
- Financial & Contract Support: Process service contract renewals and evaluate equipment reliability data to determine the most cost-effective service solutions.
- Database Management: Maintain meticulously updated equipment warranty and service data within Maximo and Access databases to track total cost of ownership.
- Procurement Assistance: Guide R&D staff through the selection and purchase of both laboratory equipment and specialized technical services.
qualifications:
Required Skills
- Experience: At least 2+ years of experience working with laboratory equipment (as a lab analyst, service provider, or coordinator).
- Systems: Proficiency in data entry and analysis within enterprise environments (specifically Maximo, Cognos, or SAP).
- Knowledge: Foundational understanding of laboratory safety, basic regulatory requirements, and GxP standards.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional customer-facing communication and time-management skills.
- Education: College Degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Education: A technical degree in Engineering or a Science-related field.
- Technical Savvy: Advanced experience managing complex maintenance contracts and assessing "insourcing" potential for repairs.
