Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of AR professionals, setting clear objectives and performance metrics.
- Oversee the daily operations of the AR department, including payment processing, collections, cash application, lockbox payments, electronic payments, and account reconciliation.
- Review the staff's performance, determine training needs, and schedule training sessions.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve AR policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Analyze AR aging reports and key metrics, identifying trends and developing strategies to reduce overdue accounts and improve Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
- Establish KPIs and reporting to monitor performance, aging trends, credit risk, collection effectiveness, and write-offs.
- Utilize data analytics and reporting tools to provide actionable insights and present findings to senior leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
- 7-10 years in AR management, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Experience in a large, high-volume, multi-state environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of end-to-end AR processes, proficiency with major accounting and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, AS400), and advanced Excel/data analysis skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive change, influence stakeholders at all levels, and manage a complex, fast-paced environment.
- Travel: Ability to travel up to 50%.
