Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end administration of all employee benefit programs, including but not limited to group health, dental, life, disability, flexible/health spending accounts, COBRA, wellness initiatives, leave of absence (LOA), and accommodation requests.
- Ensure all plans are administered strictly according to plan provisions and in full compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including FMLA, IRS, DOL, ERISA, HIPAA, and COBRA.
- Lead and manage all aspects of the annual open enrollment process, from planning and communication to system configuration and post-enrollment reconciliation.
- Ensure the accurate and timely remittance of all benefit deductions and employer contributions for welfare plans.
- Manage and conduct regular compliance audits of all benefit programs and plan documents.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all required reporting, disclosures, testing, and other government-mandated requirements.
- Build and maintain effective, collaborative relationships with all insurance carriers and other benefit providers.
- Actively monitor and evaluate vendor performance to ensure high service quality and effective program delivery.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Total Rewards/Benefits Specialists.
- Assign tasks, provide ongoing coaching, and foster a high-performing team environment.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement within benefits administration.
