You’ll be a trusted partner in workforce planning, change management, and labor relations — all while managing a 13-person HR team spread across Philadelphia and Baltimore.
What You Bring
- 7–15 years of progressive HR leadership experience, ideally in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial sectors.
- Expertise in union environments is non-negotiable, with a proven track record of handling labor relations and collective bargaining.
- Strategic thinker with experience implementing or advising on HR process transformation and workforce planning for tech-forward or evolving operations.
- Effective team leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, coach, and retain a geographically dispersed HR team.
- Understanding of insurance types relevant to operational risk (beyond just medical/benefits).
- A Juris Doctorate or legal background is a plus, but not required.
- Must be onsite full-time in Philadelphia, and available to travel to Baltimore a few times per month.
- Familiarity with Kronos, UKG, or other enterprise HR systems is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Lead and modernize the HR function with a forward-thinking and transformation-oriented mindset, offering strategic guidance on process improvements and workforce planning.
- Partner with operations leadership on technology-driven change, identifying future skill requirements and recruitment strategies for evolving roles in warehouse and industrial environments.
- Serve as the point person for union relations, including labor negotiations, employment law, wage and hour compliance, and management of both union and non-union workforces.
- Coach, develop, and retain a team of 13 HR professionals (10 in Philadelphia, 3 in Baltimore), providing leadership on culture, engagement, and team optimization.
- Advise the business on a range of insurance and risk management coverages such as workers’ compensation, commercial auto, general liability, cyber, and professional liability.
- Support HR compliance efforts around exempt vs. non-exempt classifications, workplace policies, and employee relations across multiple jurisdictions.
- Engage directly with warehouse staff and managers on-site; comfortable in manufacturing environments including refrigerated areas (PPE such as steel-toed footwear required).
- Leverage or become familiar with HR systems such as UKG and Kronos to drive data-informed decision-making and streamline processes.
