Start: 2 weeks from date of offer Location: San Antonio, TX area. Traveling to different locations in the area Hours Worked: Will shift based off needs. Could be 40 hours a week, could be 2 pending work load. Length of Contrct: Through March 2026 Hourly Pay: 35-55 per hour - W2 Only Drive time / Travel mileage reimbursed. A field tech who can act in a supervisory role if called upon. They know their way around a switch room and closet to identify potential issues with installing new Avaya equipment. Has the skill to run cross-connects and simple cabling between the equipment and the wall field in the switch room. Knows the inner connectivity of wiring between switch and endpoint—someone who has Avaya knowledge and can rack and stack servers and gateways.

Responsibilities

The field service technician will provide basic technical support for the telecommunications systems
through the assembly, installation, and testing of the telecommunications systems, including their
equipment and peripherals. The Field Service Technician must be able to work with customers, project
managers, and senior engineers to build and prepare systems for field deployments. The Field Service
Technician must have a general knowledge of the implementation of on-premises telecommunications
systems across multiple manufacturers.
Essential Functions
● Ensures exceptional client satisfaction is consistently delivered and maintained
● Respond to requests for on-site installation and perform scheduled activities of equipment
installation to high standards and manufacturing standards.
● Prepares for installations and upgrades by reviewing work orders; obtains necessary
equipment, supplies, and tools; and evaluates installation location.
● Perform on-premises wireless surveys using industry-standard tools.
● Assists with software and firmware updates to system processors, system circuit packs, IP
stations, and associated equipment.
● Able to use network tracing (wire shark) and other troubleshooting tools to
diagnose/troubleshoot end-point devices and peripheral issues.
