We are seeking a Senior Accountant – Lease to lead and support key lease accounting functions within a dynamic and high-performing finance team. This role will have a strong focus on sales-based rent calculations, IFRS16 lease valuations, and the corresponding general ledger accounting activities. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring accuracy and compliance in lease-related financial reporting, partnering closely with cross-functional teams across the organization. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to month-end close processes, balance sheet integrity, and audit readiness, all while navigating the complexities of a fast-paced, high-volume corporate environment. It is a hands-on role well-suited for an accounting professional who thrives under pressure, excels in analytical problem-solving, and is passionate about continuous process improvement.

salary: $49.99 - $50 per hour

Responsibilities

• Responsible for various lease-based accounting activities (e.g. accruals/deferrals, lease valuations, sales based rent, etc.).
• Completes month-end close duties accurately and timely (e.g. recording / approving journal entries, performing variance analysis, etc.).
• Interacts with accounting partners in North America and across the world
• Prepares/reviews reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts. Identify, communicate and resolve any reconciling items.
• Ensures compliance with IFRS accounting requirements, and internal controls.
• Works directly with internal and external auditors to ensure successful and timely completion of internal audits and quarterly/annual reviews.
• Proactively identifies and implements process improvements as necessary.
• Completes special project work as assigned.
