Responsibilities
- Manage and resolve a high volume of outstanding accounts receivable claims.
- Conduct proactive follow-up with insurance companies via phone, email, and online portals to investigate claim status and expedite payment.
- Identify and resolve claim denials, rejections, and underpayments by submitting appeals and corrected claims with all necessary documentation.
- Analyze and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) to accurately post payments and adjustments.
- Work collaboratively with the billing team to identify trends in claim denials and recommend process improvements to prevent future issues.
- Ensure all billing and follow-up activities comply with HIPAA regulations and other industry standards.
- Generate and review aging reports to prioritize follow-up efforts and identify problematic accounts.
- Communicate with patients and third-party payers to resolve billing inquiries and collect outstanding balances.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all collection activities in the billing system.
