We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Medical AR Follow-Up Specialist to join our team for a 60- 90 day contract assignment. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of full-cycle experience in medical billing, payment posting, and accounts receivable follow-up. This role is crucial for ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement for services rendered and maintaining the financial health of the practice.

salary: $22 - $23 per hour

Responsibilities

• Manage and resolve a high volume of outstanding accounts receivable claims.
• Conduct proactive follow-up with insurance companies via phone, email, and online portals to investigate claim status and expedite payment.
• Identify and resolve claim denials, rejections, and underpayments by submitting appeals and corrected claims with all necessary documentation.
• Analyze and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) to accurately post payments and adjustments.
• Work collaboratively with the billing team to identify trends in claim denials and recommend process improvements to prevent future issues.
• Ensure all billing and follow-up activities comply with HIPAA regulations and other industry standards.
• Generate and review aging reports to prioritize follow-up efforts and identify problematic accounts.
• Communicate with patients and third-party payers to resolve billing inquiries and collect outstanding balances.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all collection activities in the billing system.
