Responsibilities
- Responsible for conducting coverage investigations, analysis, and developing resolution plans
- Provides exceptional customer service, handling claims within prescribed authority and best practices
- Investigates insurance policy coverage, determines cause of loss, and documents activities to ensure quick and accurate claim resolution
- Identifies and resolves coverage issues by reviewing policies and applying them to individual claims
- Negotiates settlements for low-value claims with supervisor approval
- Develops and directs investigative plans, including scene investigations, official reports, and ownership documentation
- Identifies damages, potential liability, and fraud
- Conducts thorough damage evaluations, including appraisals, estimates, and documentation (invoices, receipts, ALE)
- Verifies ownership and applies repair/replacement methods
- Maintains communication with customers within 24 hours and works within time limits and authority
- Ensures compliance with federal, state regulations, and company protocols. Stays current on industry regulations and trends
- Partners with SIU and Subrogation to identify questionable claims and prepare files for legal action.
- Mentors junior examiners, conducts quality audits, and manages authority requests in the absence of a supervisor.
