Responsibilities
- Reviews general ledger accounts and corrects journal entries.
- Performs account analysis and reconciliation, including bank statements and intercompany general ledger accounts.
- Maintains general ledger chart of accounts.
- Conducts initial internal control evaluations.
- Ascertains whether company assets are properly accounted for and safeguarded from loss.
- Posts monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals.
- Constructs routine spreadsheet applications, prepares financial data for input into finance systems, and generates reports.
- Performs calculations which may include interest and depreciation.
- Analyzes, reconciles, balances, and maintains accounting records; assists in development of budget and special financial reports.
- Prepares, reviews, and processes budget, revenue, expense, payroll, and related correcting entries and may prepare bank reconciliations.
- Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management and Board of Directors.
- May coordinate and monitor data processing batches including suspense control, cash counts, and balancing.
- May assist in audits and prepare audit work papers.
- Observes confidentiality policies at all times.
- Complies with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance .
- Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in General Ledger Accounting preferred.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS).
