Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the accounting team responsible for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to deadlines.
- Review and audit the team's work, providing guidance and support to foster professional growth.
- Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals to manage complex billing processes, including e-billing, rate changes, and budget tracking.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of the accounting department.
- Manage vendor relationships, oversee payment processes, and ensure employee reimbursements are handled correctly.
- Assist with special projects and financial reporting as needed by senior management.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory accounting role.
- Experience within a law firm or professional services environment is highly preferred.
- A hands-off, empowering leadership style with a passion for mentoring and developing staff.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and adept at working in a fast-paced, growing organization.
- Experience with industry-specific accounting software is a significant plus (e.g., Coyote, Elite, Aderant).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner effectively with all levels of the firm.
