A leading Phoenix-based organization is looking for two detail-oriented Payroll Accountants to join our dynamic finance team for a 6+ month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for meticulous professionals seeking a flexible work arrangement.
In this role, your primary focus will be managing complex general ledger reconciliations, ensuring accuracy across high-volume accounts. You will be instrumental in our monthly accounting close process, handling journal entries, and collaborating with site finance teams. Your expertise will also be valued in analyzing financial operations to recommend policy improvements, preparing reports for audits, and providing guidance to other team members. We are looking for adaptable and diligent individuals who can handle sensitive financial data with precision and discretion.
Key Details:
- Pay Rate: $35 - $38 per hour, flexible depending on experience.
- Duration: 6+ months.
- Schedule: Full-time, flexible hours (7:00 AM - 4:00 PM or 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM).
- Location: Hybrid/Remote. Initial training is in our Phoenix, AZ office (85040), followed by 100% remote work with occasional in-office meetings. Local candidates are preferred.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 2+ years of professional experience.
- An Associate’s degree with 4+ years of experience.
- A High School diploma with 6+ years of relevant experience and training.

Responsibilities
• General Ledger Reconciliation & Oversight (50%)
Manage complex reconciliations for domestic companies, including expenditures,
entries, and postings. Ensure accuracy in high-volume general ledger accounts and
verify bank statement reconciliations.
• Accounting Close Process (20%)
Execute tasks such as journal entries, collaboration with site finance teams, and
financial analysis, applying deep knowledge of accounting policies and procedures.
• Policy & Procedure Enhancement (10%)
Analyze financial operations and recommend improvements to accounting policies and
procedures.

Develop schedules and reconciliation reports to support audit readiness.
