Responsibilities
- Oversee all HR functions, including hiring, disciplinary measures, promotions, and terminations, ensuring compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) guidelines.
- Partner with the leadership team in union contract negotiations and act as the facilitator for union/management meetings.
- Champion the organization’s mission and vision, actively participating in the strategic planning process.
- Engage leadership in succession planning and develop strategies to enhance employee engagement and staff development by identifying ways to increase staff retention and productivity.
- Promote the organization as an employer of choice by creating career paths, providing regular feedback and coaching, and leading the performance management process.
- Mitigate legal risk through proactive training and education, and establish clear systems for managing conflicts and investigating complaints of harassment, discrimination, and other unjust practices.
- Ensure organizational compliance with all relevant HR laws and regulations at the local, state, and national levels.
- Ensure the organization offers a competitive compensation and benefits package to attract and retain staff by partnering with leadership to regularly review compensation and benefits data, monitor pay practices, and manage benefit enrollment and leave administration.
- Actively participate in the organization’s budget process, prepare and execute the department budget, and monitor and approve expenditures.
