- Perform full cycle general accounting duties including journal entries, account reconciliations, billing, and inventory tracking.
- Perform functions of accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, GL closing and financial reporting using QuickBooks.
- Analyze monthly financial statements and assist with internal reports including KPIs.
- Support project accounting and percentage-of-completion reporting for construction/service jobs.
- Make payments for all benefits related expenses and track company population relative to benefits.
- Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements for accounting and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with field operations, management, and external partners.
- Handle business administration functions as needed, including audit support and compliance.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and accountability in all financial documentation.
- Work onsite full-time, with occasional overtime during peak periods.
Requirements:
- Proven general accounting experience, preferably in construction or service trades with a very good understanding of credits and debits across multiple functions.
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop Pro and Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and IF statements.
- Understanding of percentage-of-completion and project-based (job cost) accounting helpful but not required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable and flexible in a fast moving and less structured environment.
- Proactive problem solver with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to commute daily to the on-site location (must be within 45 - 60 minutes one-way).
- Experience as a lead is preferred but not required.
