Responsibilities
- Procurement and Sourcing: Source materials and finish supplies. Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities, such as bulk purchasing, discounts, and using alternative but equal materials.
- Vendor and Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and outsource manufacturers. Negotiate favorable terms and discounts and track deliveries to ensure timely arrival.
- Inventory and Materials Control: Oversee inventory management and conduct regular audits. Forecast inventory needs for upcoming projects and report them to the Chief Financial Officer.
- Budgeting and Costing: Ensure that material costs align with project budgets and estimates. Provide front-end costing updates to estimators.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, project managers, and the production team to ensure all material requirements for projects are fulfilled.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Place orders based on material takeoffs. Handle all returns or exchanges of materials. Create and maintain accurate records of purchases and inventory.
- Compliance and Client Requirements: Understand client requirements for industry-standard compliance and sustainability.
