As an AML Analyst II you will monitor and investigate suspicious financial activities within the digital asset space to prevent money laundering, terrorist financing, and other financial crimes. This position will focus primarily on research with cryptocurrency transactions.  As the front line of defense, you will ensure that transactions comply with regulations like the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and guidelines from organizations like FinCEN (Financial Crimes Enforcement Network).  This team works fully onsite at the office in San Antonio, TX.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough AML investigations and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) on high-risk customers and complex cryptocurrency transactions.
• Monitor blockchain transactions and use blockchain tools to identify suspicious activity and risk.
• Prepare and file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and other regulatory reports in accordance with FinCEN and other relevant regulations
• Assist in the development, implementation, and enhancement of our AML compliance program, specifically as it relates to cryptocurrency products.
• Stay up-to-date on emerging AML trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices in the fintech and digital asset sectors.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including legal, compliance, and product development, to ensure that new products and features comply with all AML requirements.
• Provide training and guidance to internal teams on AML risks and best practices in the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in an AML compliance role, with at least 1-2 years focused on cryptocurrency, blockchain, or fintech.
• Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and USA PATRIOT Act
• Experience with blockchain analytics tools (e.g., Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic).
