Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all patients, providing a comforting presence and addressing questions and anxieties with compassion.
- Efficiently manage patient flow by accurately registering and checking in every patient using a digital registration system and communicating their arrival to the clinical team
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including demographic information, insurance details, and essential contact information
- Process financial transactions, including collecting co-pays, co-insurance, and outstanding balances, and ensure daily cash reconciliation is accurate
- Educate patients on financial policies, HIPAA regulations, and Advanced Beneficiary Notifications (ABNs) for Medicare patients
- Manage patient-related correspondence, including handling returned mail and updating address information
- Scan and upload critical patient documents into the EMR system
