Responsibilities
As a Specialist, Logistics, you will be the core logistics support for our operations, responsible for the end-to-end management of freight movement, including order entry, routing, and traffic coordination. Your daily tasks will include:
- Carrier Communication: Managing all email communication and negotiations with our carriers.
- Order Management: Maintaining customer profile information and accurately entering loads from customer tenders into our Freight Optimizer system.
- Load Tracking & Monitoring:
- Monitoring daily pick-ups and deliveries, ensuring loads arrive on time and in good condition.
- Taking check calls from drivers to confirm timely deliveries.
- Validating all load data before marking loads as delivered for accounting purposes.
- Traffic Coordination: Providing detailed directions and instructions to properly route drivers.
- Scheduling: Scheduling and rescheduling delivery appointments; accepting or declining loads based on direction from Account Managers.
- Problem Resolution: Investigating product overages, shortages, and damages, and completing the appropriate documentation.
- Updates & Reporting: Updating account managers on problem loads and actions taken; keeping receivers and customers informed on the status of loads.
