- Manage audits and respond to tax agency inquiries
- Register/close state and local tax jurisdictions
- Reconcile payroll tax accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Review and respond to agency tax notices
- Conduct internal payroll tax audits
- Monitor regulation changes to ensure compliance
- 5+ years of payroll tax and compliance experience (multi-state)
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Experience with tax reconciliations and audits
- ADP Smart Compliance preferred
- Intermediate Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- 6-month contract, potential to convert to permanent
- Hybrid (Newark, NJ, NYC or Brentwood, NY) – 1–2 days in office
- Work Hours: Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM
- Pay: $43–$53/hour
