Do you have 5+ years of US payroll tax experience and want to join a leader in the financial industry? As a Payroll Tax Specialist, you will be the subject matter expert on payroll tax compliance across multiple states. You’ll manage audits, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate, timely payroll tax processing while supporting both internal teams and external agencies. What you’ll do:

• Manage audits and respond to tax agency inquiries
• Register/close state and local tax jurisdictions
• Reconcile payroll tax accounts and resolve discrepancies
• Review and respond to agency tax notices
• Conduct internal payroll tax audits
• Monitor regulation changes to ensure compliance

What we’re looking for:

• 5+ years of payroll tax and compliance experience (multi-state)
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations
• Experience with tax reconciliations and audits
• ADP Smart Compliance preferred
• Intermediate Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Contract Details:

• 6-month contract, potential to convert to permanent
• Hybrid (Newark, NJ, NYC or Brentwood, NY) – 1–2 days in office
• Work Hours: Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM
• Pay: $43–$53/hour
