The AR Accounting Clerk is responsible for ensuring that all payments are properly received and applied to customer accounts. Secures revenue by verifying and posting receipts; resolving discrepancies. The AR Accounting Clerk communicates with customers and team members to ensure that payment issues are resolved in a timely manner. The AR Accounting Clerk must work with Sales reps, customers, collectors and management to ensure that the company’s credit terms are adhered to.

Responsibilities
- Posts customer payments by recording cash, checks, and other forms of payment.
- Follow up with customer and sales team to ensure late accounts are brought back up to date.
- Apply credit holds and releases after discussion and approval by Accounts receivable supervisor.
- Maintain secure customer records as required.
- Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, trade promotions, customer service departments, and from customers;
- Ensure accuracy of SAP accounts receivable records by properly applying customer payments, prompt follow up and expediting discrepancies.
- Resolves valid or authorized deductions by entering adjusting entries.
- Resolves invalid or unauthorized deductions by following pending deductions procedures.
- Resolves collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, credit line; coordinating contact with collections department.
