Responsibilities
- High-Priority Collections: Manage and execute intense collection efforts for a portfolio of severely delinquent business accounts (primarily 90+ days past due) in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Negotiation & Resolution: Negotiate complex payment arrangements, settlements, and legal demand protocols while maintaining a professional and compliant approach to preserve key business relationships where possible.
- Dispute Resolution: Proactively engage with internal departments (Sales, Customer Service, Billing) and customer contacts to quickly identify and resolve disputes, deductions, and billing issues that are preventing payment.
- Account Analysis: Perform deep dives into account histories, payment patterns, and customer financial situations to assess risk and determine the most effective collection strategy.
- System Utilization: Accurately document all collection activities, communications, and promises-to-pay within the ERP system. SAP preferred, or experience with a similar large-scale ERP (e.g., Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Reporting & Escalation: Prepare detailed aging reports, forecasted collections results, and escalate high-risk or problematic accounts to management with clear recommendations for third-party placement or legal action.
- Compliance: Ensure all collection activities adhere to company policy and all relevant commercial debt collection laws and regulations.
