We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper for a fast-growing regionally trusted home building company in the Union Hall, Virginia area. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction accounting with the ability to allocate costs, complete payroll, and manage daily bookkeeping functions in QuickBooks. 

salary: $23 - $25 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 10 AM - 2 PM
education: Associate

Responsibilities

• Manage daily bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online
• Track and allocate costs accurately using job costing
• Manage Construction in Progress (CIP) accounting
• Handle customer progress billing
• Oversee payroll and ensure compliance with state/federal labor requirements
• Collaborate with project managers and company leadership for accurate financial tracking
• Provide timely and accurate monthly financials, including project-level P&Ls
• Perform monthly reconciliations and accounting close accurately and on a timely basis
• Willing to do administrative office manager work as well if position becomes full time

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of QuickBooks Online experience in a construction setting preferred
• Solid understanding of construction accounting principles, including job costing, CIP, and progress billing
• Familiarity with contract revenue recognition methods
• Solid grasp of construction payroll and certified payroll requirements
• Proficiency in project budgeting and financial reporting
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
• Able to work independently and meet deadlines consistently
