Responsibilities
Union, Prevailing Wage, and Compliance
- Manage and execute weekly multi-site payroll for both salaried and hourly employees, with a focus on unionized trades across various active construction projects.
- Ensure accurate calculation and timely submission of union benefits (e.g., welfare, pension, annuity) and remittances to various union funds.
- Process and manage certified payroll reports (e.g., LCPtracker, AASHTOWare) for Prevailing Wage projects in accordance with New York City and New York State Department of Labor requirements.
- Stay current on all NYC and NYS labor laws, union master agreements, work rules, and legislative changes impacting payroll (e.g., PTO, sick leave, minimum wage).
Payroll Operations and Administration
- Oversee the entire payroll process from timecard review and data entry through final check issuance and electronic funds transfer (EFT).
- Review and verify all employee pay changes, deductions, and withholdings, including tax withholdings, garnishments, and benefits.
- Manage the payroll system configuration, ensuring accurate rate tables, tax codes, and benefits accruals, which often involves specialized construction payroll software.
- Coordinate with the Project Management and Field Operations teams to ensure timely and accurate collection and approval of timecards.
