- Execute all aspects of full-cycle accounting, including GL maintenance, journal entries, account reconciliations, and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) for management.
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
- Coordinate with external CPAs for tax preparation and financial audits.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust job cost analysis methodologies for our contract-based services (meter-to-transformer work).
- Monitor, analyze, and report on the profitability of individual service contracts and overall client engagements.
- Track labor, material, equipment, and overhead costs against established contract rates and budgets.
- This role does not focus on percentage-of-completion accounting, as all work is contract-based/service-oriented, requiring cost analysis on recurring work orders.
- Serve as a key resource in the transition from our current accounting software (Jonas) to a more modern, mainstream Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform, with a target of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or a similar system.
- Assist in data migration, process documentation, and system testing.
- Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes and internal controls.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Technical proficiency in GAAP and full-cycle accounting principles.
- Experience with a complex accounting software package (ERP/MRP) is required.
- Direct experience participating in or leading an accounting software migration (e.g., from Jonas to Dynamics, SAP, NetSuite, etc.) is highly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with non-financial team members.
