Responsibilities
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including revenue recognition, expense accruals, prepaid and fixed asset amortization, deferred revenue, and reclasses.
• Oversee the general ledger: maintain the chart of accounts, review entries, and ensure GAAP-compliant classifications.
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts and all key balance sheet accounts; investigate and resolve variances promptly.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements (Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow) with clear variance analysis delivered according to the close calendar.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable: vendor onboarding, bill processing, payments, invoicing, cash application, aging reviews, and collections follow-up.
• Provide guidance on accounting topics such as job or project costing, overhead allocation, and margin analysis.
• Build and maintain robust Excel workbooks for reconciliations, schedules, and reporting automation.
• Collaborate with operations, FP&A, and other stakeholders; interact professionally with clients and vendors.
• Identify process improvements and strengthen internal controls across the close and reporting cycle; document procedures and checklists.
