Are you an experienced, certified medical coder with a revenue cycle background in Dermatology? We're looking for a detail-oriented professional to join our thriving practice. In this critical role, you will be responsible for accurately assigning ICD-10-CM (diagnosis) and CPT (procedure) codes for all services, including surgical procedures, office visits, and pathology. You'll be instrumental in reviewing clinical documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with all coding regulations, and managing denials and appeals. Responsibilities

• Code Assignment: Accurately assign ICD-10-CM (diagnosis) and CPT (procedure) codes for all dermatology services, including office visits, surgical procedures (e.g., excisions, Mohs surgery), pathology services, and cosmetic procedures, ensuring compliance with Official Coding Guidelines.
  
  
• Documentation Review: Review and analyze clinical documentation to ensure services rendered and diagnoses are completely and accurately supported before code assignment.
  
  
• Claim Submission Preparation: Prepare and review claims for submission to government payers (Medicare, Medicaid) and commercial insurance companies, verifying patient demographics and insurance information.
  
  
• A/R and Denials Management: Investigate and resolve coding-related claim rejections, denials, and payment discrepancies. Work with the billing department to appeal claims when appropriate.
  
  
• Compliance and Regulation: Stay current with changes to coding conventions, payer policies, and federal and state regulations relevant to dermatology.
  
  
• Provider Education: Communicate regularly with dermatologists and clinical staff regarding documentation improvement opportunities to ensure maximum specificity and accurate code capture.
  
  
• Charge Entry: Accurately enter charges and coding information into the practice management system.
