Responsibilities
Claim Management: Conduct thorough investigations, adjustments, and timely resolution of auto liability claims.
Litigation & Risk: Manage litigated files with defense counsel, set accurate reserves, apply coverage, and assist in identifying liability exposures. Alert management to changes in relevant laws.
Vendor Oversight: Proactively direct and manage external vendors (adjusters, experts, counsel) for efficient claim development.
Communication: Serve as the key contact, providing clear status updates to internal stakeholders (operations, legal) and effectively negotiating settlements with claimants/carriers.
Cost Control: Manage indemnity and expense costs properly and interact with primary/excess carriers as needed.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum three (3) years in casualty claims (Auto Liability preferred). Demonstrated ability to handle low-to-mid-range liability exposures.
Skills: strong technical acumen, exceptional negotiation skills, regulatory understanding, and highly self-motivated.
Bonus: Experience with Commercial Auto claims is a significant plus. Ability to obtain required state licenses.
