The Role: General Function The Senior Accountant participates in all core function-based accounting activities. This includes managing Cash and banking, handling revenue deferrals, processing selling and G&A expenses, and accounting for marketing activities. This role is crucial for executing all month-end close items and ensuring the accuracy of our financials through meticulous balance sheet reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities: Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Function-Based Accounting: Own various accounting activities, including but not limited to:
- Cash and banking activities
- Revenue deferrals and recognition
- Recording of legal expense
- Marketing accruals and expenses
- Depreciation and fixed asset accounting
- Cash and banking activities
- Month-End Close Expertise: Complete month-end close duties accurately and timely, including recording/approving journal entries and performing detailed variance analysis.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Interact effectively with accounting, finance, and operations partners across North America and global locations.
- Financial Integrity: Prepare and/or review reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts. Analyze balances to ensure accuracy and communicate unreconciled items to the proper parties for resolution.
- Audit Readiness: Work directly with internal and external auditors to ensure the successful and timely completion of internal audits and quarterly/annual reviews.
- Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function.
- Special Projects: Complete special project work as assigned by leadership.
