Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Logistics Dispatcher to join their dedicated operations team. This critical role is centered on managing the timely and efficient movement of freight. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of container logistics and terminal procedures. Responsibilities

• Dispatch & Operations: Manage daily dispatch of drayage and OTR loads. Plan optimal routes and assign shipments to carriers/drivers, maximizing efficiency and complying with HOS/DOT regulations. Monitor real-time status of all loads via TMS/GPS, and proactively resolve operational issues (delays, breakdowns, route deviations).
  
  
• Rail & Port Coordination: Oversee all intermodal movements involving ocean carriers, rail lines, and drayage. Crucially, coordinate container movements to and from major ports and rail terminals. Ensure full adherence to port/rail gate procedures and appointment requirements.
  
  
• Asset Management: Efficiently manage and track chassis inventory, reducing per diem and detention costs. Monitor container status, including vessel ETAs/ETDs, rail traces, and customs release for timely pickup/delivery. Proactively minimize exposure to costly demurrage and storage fees.
  
  
• Documentation & Compliance: Ensure accurate data entry of all load information in the TMS. Handle and process critical documentation: BOLs, PODs, interchange agreements, and customs releases.
  
  
• Communication: Serve as the primary contact for drivers, carriers, and internal teams. Provide timely, professional status updates regarding delays, exceptions, and ETAs to maintain high customer satisfaction.
  
  
• Performance: Drive performance toward key KPIs, including on-time delivery rates and cost-per-load optimization.
