Responsibilities
- Supplier Management & Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and source new suppliers; manage contract data and maintain professional relationships.
- Negotiation & Cost Reduction: Negotiate prices and terms to secure the best cost of goods; actively identify and recommend opportunities for cost reductions.
- Market & Product Expertise: Develop and maintain exceptional knowledge of products, market conditions, and vendors to ensure margin goals are met or exceeded.
- Purchasing Execution: Issue detailed and accurate purchase orders (P.O.s), track order status to achieve on-time delivery, and acquire necessary supplier specification sheets.
- Inventory Control: Collaborate with teams to maintain optimal inventory levels, make rational purchasing decisions, and identify potential shortages or overstock.
- Data & Reporting: Maintain updated and accurate data in Sage; prepare reports on supplier performance and ensure data for accurate landed cost is recorded.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all purchased goods and services consistently meet quality standards, specifications, and requirements.
- Internal Communication: Work closely with other departments to communicate order status, deliveries, delays, and address internal customer concerns.
