We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounts Payable Accountant to join my client's growing accounting team. This is a unique opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong systems knowledge and excellent interpersonal skills to take ownership of the full AP cycle and directly contribute to our team's operational improvements. The ideal candidate will be proficient in NetSuite and possess the ambition and aptitude to quickly grow into an AP Supervisor role, managing a team of three.

salary: $32 - $36 per hour

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full cycle Accounts Payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense reports, and payment runs.
  
  
• Process payments, including check runs, wire transfers, and ACH processing.
  
  
• Serve as the NetSuite subject matter expert for Accounts Payable, leveraging the system for efficiency and reporting.
  
  
• Execute complex journal entries related to cash, bank activities, and AP accruals.
  
  
• Actively participate in a significant upcoming bank transition project, handling the related changes in bank transfers and reconciliation.
  
  
• Maintain vendor relationships and resolve complex invoice discrepancies.
  
  
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, contributing to the full cycle accounting process.
  
  
• Manage and file multi-state sales tax, ensuring compliance across all jurisdictions. Experience with Avalara is a significant plus.
  
  
• Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions promptly and accurately.
  
  
• Demonstrate strong leadership potential and a willingness to mentor and eventually manage a team of three AP Clerks.
• Exceptional Communication and People Skills: Friendly, professional demeanor with the ability to clearly communicate complex financial information to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Resourceful and proactive in identifying issues, developing solutions, and driving process improvements.
