Responsibilities
Role Summary: The Truck Dispatcher is responsible for partnering with our contracted Owner-Operators to ensure the safe and efficient movement of Full Truckload (FTL) freight. This role is essential in monitoring daily delivery activity and ensuring successful trip execution as part of the dispatch team.
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience: 1+ year of experience in logistics or transportation.
- Language: Must be proficient in both Spanish and English.
- Knowledge: Basic working knowledge of FTL/FCL Freight and Federal rules/regulations for domestic transport.
- Skills: Communication, negotiation, and motivational skills to coach and support drivers.
- Coach Owner-Operators to achieve weekly mileage goals and maximize Hours of Service (HOS) productivity.
- Collaborate with Planners to assign drivers to optimal freight lanes.
- Communicate service expectations clearly for every load.
- Track shipment progress and provide timely updates in the TMS System.
- Ensure the accuracy of all Linehaul rates and accessorial pay items for payroll.
- Maintain accurate records of pick-up/delivery, communications, and proofs of delivery (PODs).
- Proactively communicate with drivers to foster a meaningful relationship and assist with trip functions.
