Position Overview We are seeking a high-caliber Staff Accountant to support financial operations, year-end close, and audit preparation for a prominent organization in Vero Beach. This role is designed for a detail-oriented professional with a strong foundation in multi-entity accounting and a proven ability to streamline departmental procedures. The successful candidate will oversee essential accounting functions while driving cost-saving initiatives and financial integrity.
Core Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and consolidate monthly, YTD, and annual financial statements for multi-entity holdings with revenues exceeding $500M.
- Operational Oversight: Manage daily operations for accounting departments, including supervision of A/R, A/P, and junior staff accountants.
- General Ledger & Reconciliations: Perform high-volume bank and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy during critical year-end and month-end cycles.
- Strategic Analysis: Conduct in-depth cost analyses to identify margin improvements and implement waste reduction strategies.
- Audit & Compliance: Support comprehensive audits of fixed assets and insurance coverages; identify discrepancies to improve cash flow.
- Treasury & Debt Management: Assist in financial restructuring, including loan refinancing and debt consolidation.
- Process Improvement: Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reduce errors and enhance team productivity.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Excel Mastery: Must score 80% or higher on a standard Excel assessment (covering V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, and advanced formulas).
- Typing Speed: Minimum 45 WPM.

- Attributes: strong leadership skills with experience managing teams of 10+; ability to work in fast-paced, high-revenue environments.

Responsibilities
General Ledger Responsibilities
Prepare G/L accounts monthly reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts.
Process monthly recurring \and closing entries including:
o Prepaid expenses.
o Deferred Revenue review and entries
Various monthly reporting for Service Centers
Assist with Month end close and other projects as assigned by Controller/CFO
Year end audit schedules as assigned for financial audit.
