We are seeking an experienced Accounting Technician to work with the city clerk.  The qualified candidated will work under general supervision and perform financial, statistical, internal audits, budgetary, purchashing, and other management analyses in support of the development and administration of city budgets, assist in the preparation of general accounting practices and day-to-day business operations, and perform related duties as assigned. Candidate must have five (5) years of accounting, auditing, purchasing, or other related experience.  Municipal government accounting/finance experience preferred.

salary: $15 - $16 per hour

work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM

Responsibilities

Provide customer service and assistance to the public

Process requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, and payments; answers paymnet inquires from vendors; follow up on and resolve related problems

Monitor and ensure timely payment of all dept service payments

Create invoices and submit invoices to customers

Reconcile monthly vendor statements

Prepare and file annual E-verify report and 1099's

Maintain and update vendor files

Post daily operations to the general ledger and deposit tracking

Conduct in office purchases

Perform general clerical and administrative support to include the preparation on memos, letters, and correspondence relating to a variety of finance, budget, and audit topics
