Responsibilities
The Construction Accountant is responsible for preparing draws and pay applications for development/construction projects, preparing project financial statements and monitoring project cash balances.
- Prepare monthly construction draws to be submitted to lenders.
- Prepare financial statements.
- Reconcile bank accounts, intercompany and balance sheet accounts monthly.
- Import construction-related contractor invoices, process and record ACH payments.
- Make deposits and record cash transactions in Sage cash management promptly.
- Prepare and record journal entries to include but not limited to tax and insurance accruals.
- Prepare journal entries for Sage construction activity to be recorded in Yardi by Property Accountant.
- Reconcile all subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger monthly.
- Prepare monthly reports for the construction department and record budget revisions
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Construction background
- Have worked with Construction loans (Construction Draw)
- 5 years of accounting experience
