Responsibilities
- Technical File Auditing: Review print designs to ensure strict adherence to prepress standards, specifically focusing on trapping, overprinting, and print-type specifications.
- Proofing & Preparation: Support the department by preparing and inspecting print-ready proofs for client approval and verifying that job tickets align perfectly with artwork preparation.
- Process Oversight: Evaluate the consistency of standard operating procedures, including typesetting, copy changes, color separations, and digital image corrections.
- Production Support: Quality check TIFF/LEN files for plating and inspect stepped layouts for digital printing.
- Communication & Feedback: Provide daily actionable feedback to prepress operators and production teams to maintain a high standard of excellence.
- Continuous Improvement: Assist in developing new quality protocols, conduct data collection for QC records, and participate in facility-wide improvement initiatives.
- Flexibility: Prepare 1-up files and stepped layouts for both flexo and digital workflows as needed.
