Full Charge Bookkeeper – Construction Industry Jacksonville, FL If you’ve worked in construction accounting, you already know it’s not the same as standard bookkeeping. This role is for someone who understands job costing, lien waivers, retainage, and why a clean set of books can make or break a project. I’m partnering with a well-established Jacksonville-based construction company that’s looking to add an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper with construction industry experience. This is a hands-on role for someone who truly owns the numbers and takes pride in keeping projects financially tight. This is not an entry-level bookkeeping role. This is for someone who knows construction. salary: $60,000 - $70,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Full cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Job costing by project, phase, and cost code
• Setting up and maintaining jobs within the accounting system
• Processing subcontractor invoices and verifying against contracts and schedules of values
• Managing lien waivers and compliance documentation
• Tracking and managing retainage
• Preparing and submitting AIA billings or progress billings
• Managing change orders from a financial perspective
• Processing certified payroll when required
• Payroll processing for field and office staff
• Managing union reporting if applicable
• Reconciling bank, credit card, and loan accounts
• Maintaining general ledger accuracy
• Preparing monthly financial statements and job cost reports
• Cash flow tracking across multiple active projects
• Sales tax reporting and compliance
• Working closely with owners, project managers, and external CPAs
• Supporting year-end close and audit preparation
• Maintaining clean, organized, audit-ready financial records
• Working within construction accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage 100 Contractor, Sage 300, Foundation, Procore financials, or similar platforms
