Responsibilities
- Review blueprints and project specifications to formulate detailed, competitive estimates.
- Conduct deep-dive research into labor, material, logistics, and equipment costs to ensure bid accuracy.
- Partner with the Purchasing Department and external vendors to secure optimal pricing on essential materials.
- Lead internal estimate reviews, vetting the work of junior team members for accuracy at least 24 hours prior to bid submission.
- Curate professional project scopes and formal price proposals that align with client requirements and firm objectives.
- Evaluate external variables—such as market pricing, labor availability, and site-specific weather patterns—to assess potential impacts on project feasibility.
- Transform successful bids into executable project budgets upon award.
- Facilitate "smooth-flow" planning meetings to transition critical data to Project Managers, Superintendents, and Safety officers.
- Analyze project close-out data to compare estimated versus actual costs, driving continuous improvement for future bids.
- Champion a culture of "Uncompromised Safety," ensuring all estimates account for necessary safety expectations and requirements.
- Foster long-term partnerships with owners and clients through exceptional service and industry expertise.
- Travel to project sites as necessary to gain first-hand insight into work progress and environmental challenges.
