The Tax Manager will play a key role in reviewing complex tax returns, leading client relationships, developing staff, and contributing to business development initiatives. This position follows a hybrid schedule, requiring the ability to commute to a designated office location three days per week.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- CPA or IRS Enrolled Agent (EA) certification required.
- 6+ years of recent tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience, preferably within public accounting or a public/corporate mix.
- Recent hands-on experience preparing U.S. individual, partnership, and entity tax returns.
- Leadership, communication, and client management skills.
- Ability to work onsite three days per week in an assigned office location.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and review U.S. tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and other entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Serve as a trusted advisor by building and maintaining client relationships and collaborating closely with firm leadership.
- Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, quality standards, and budget expectations are consistently met.
- Train, supervise, and mentor associates and senior staff, supporting professional growth and performance development.
- Develop an understanding of clients’ businesses and proactively identify tax planning and consulting opportunities.
- Oversee time tracking, billing accuracy, and engagement economics for self and assigned team members.
- Conduct tax research and stay current on changes in tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards, applying new guidance to client engagements.
- Participate in business development activities, including networking, seminars, and cultivating new client relationships.
- Collaborate with tax professionals across the firm to share knowledge and deliver efficient, high-quality tax services.
- Hold self and team accountable for achieving individual and professional development goals.
- Master’s degree in Taxation or a related field.
- Experience using GoSystems and/or CCH Axcess tax software.
- Prior experience within a Private Client Services or high-net-worth tax practice.
