- Review and validate complex payroll data sets prior to final submission.
- Perform detailed audits of earnings, deductions, and tax withholdings to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Support complex pay calculations, including retro-pay, bonuses, and commission structures.
- Assist with multi-state and multi-country payroll requirements and localized compliance.
- Advise on payroll compliance regarding federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
- Conduct pre- and post-payroll audits; analyze discrepancies to identify root causes and implement long-term solutions.
- Support internal, external, and SOX audits with meticulous documentation and reconciliations.
- Assist in year-end processing, including W-2/W-2C balancing and error resolution. System & Process Optimization
- Maintain and configure payroll system settings, including the setup of earnings/deduction codes and automated workflows.
- Test payroll system updates, patches, and new features to ensure zero-disruption to live environments.
- Cross-Functional Support
- Handle escalated or complex "Level 2" payroll inquiries from employees and stakeholders.
- Prepare reconciliations between payroll reports and the general ledger (GL).
- Collaborate with HR, Benefits, and Finance teams to ensure data integrity and manage vendor interfaces (401k, garnishments, benefits).
- Develop and maintain automated payroll reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Troubleshoot system-related issues and partner with HR Tech on process improvements.
