Our Product Development team is seeking a PART TIME detail-oriented Lab Technician to assist in bringing aromatic concepts from the bench to production. This is a unique opportunity to work within a collaborative R&D environment, helping to shape the scents and formulas of tomorrow. Key Responsibilities
- Formulation & Batching: Calculate ingredient requirements and weigh raw materials according to precise formulas. Combine and process ingredients, carefully observing the manufacturing process and recording all notable characteristics.
- R&D Collaboration: Execute projects from the bench scale through to pilot and production by collaborating with internal stakeholders.
- Product Assessment: Assist the Product Development team with aesthetic and specification assessments. Conduct product stability testing to understand the interactions between process and raw materials.
- Equipment & Compliance: Operate lab-scale equipment (pH meters, scales, viscometers, and mixers) following established SOPs.
- Data Management: Responsible for RDS formula entry and the maintenance of stability modules.
- Education: College Diploma required.
- Experience: Prior experience in a cosmetic lab is required. Ownership of batch preparation for cosmetic formulations is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in computer skills and the operation of standard lab instrumentation (scales, viscometers, etc.).
- Industry Standards: knowledge of WHMIS and GMP skills.
- Aromatic Comfort: Candidates must be comfortable working with intense aromas daily; this role is not suitable for individuals with scent sensitivities.

- Develop and assist in product evaluation in conjunction with the Product Development team.
- Assist in performing product stability testing.
- Observe and learn about the relationship between process, raw materials and other interactions taking place
- Utilize all lab scale equipment and related SOP's for batching, testing and quality purposes
- Responsible for RDS formula entry and maintenance of stability modules
