Location: Lantana, FL (On-site)
Pay Range: $30.00 – $35.00 / hour
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
The Opportunity
Are you a seasoned accounting professional who thrives on creating order out of chaos? We are a premier, family-owned produce operation in Lantana, and we are looking for a Department Lead to build the future of our finance office.
This is not a simple data-entry role. We are looking for an architect—someone who can manage the day-to-day books while designing the systems and workflows that will allow our business to scale. If you have experience in the agriculture or produce industry and a proactive attitude toward process improvement, we want to talk to you.
Core Responsibilities
- System Design & Leadership: Develop and document standardized accounting procedures (SOPs) to build a formal finance department from the ground up.
- ERP Management: Act as the lead power-user for Famous (Oracle) software, managing inventory costing, data integrity, and complex agricultural billing cycles.
- Full-Cycle Accounting: Execute all AP/AR functions, including 3-way matching (PO vs. Receiver vs. Invoice), vendor payment scheduling, and high-volume collections.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Oversee Lien Logs and Notice to Owner (NTO) filings; manage 1099s and prepare documentation for annual internal/external audits.
- Cash Flow & Reporting: Monitor daily cash positions and provide weekly financial snapshots to ownership to support business growth and payroll funding.
- bilingual Coordination: Serve as the primary professional link between English-speaking management and Spanish-speaking vendors, field staff, and drivers.
- Experience: 7+ years of Full-Charge Bookkeeping. Experience in Produce, Agriculture, or Logistics is a significant advantage.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks and extensive experience with ERP systems (Famous, SAP, or Oracle).
- Language: bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is a core requirement for daily operations.
- Legal Knowledge: Familiarity with Florida-specific construction/agricultural lien laws and PACA regulations.
- Mindset: You are a self-starter. You don't need a manual—you prefer to write one. You understand the fast-paced nature of the produce industry and can handle high-volume billing with precision.
