Responsibilities
- Fabrication & Assembly: Analyze blueprints and CAD models to lay out, machine, and assemble complex tools and dies (including progressive and form dies).
- Precision Machining: Set up and operate a variety of manual and CNC machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM) to shape workpieces to exacting specifications—often within ±.0001".
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on production tooling to minimize downtime and ensure consistent part quality.
- Quality Inspection: Verify tool dimensions using precision instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, CMMs, and optical comparators.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering and production teams to suggest design improvements that enhance manufacturing efficiency and reduce waste.
- Safety & Organization: Maintain a clean, safe workspace in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standards and internal safety protocols.
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in Tool & Die making
- Technical Proficiency: * Advanced ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and GD&T
- roficiency in CNC programming and CAD/CAM software.
- Expertise in working with various metals and alloys, including knowledge of heat-treating processes.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
