Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
- Perform complex bench chemistry testing on raw materials and finished pet food products to ensure strict adherence to safety specifications.
- Deliver high-quality, reproducible data while maintaining a strong focus on "Right First Time" laboratory practices.
- Optimize testing turn-around times (TAT) to support production-oriented goals and weekly KPIs.
- Operate and help maintain sophisticated laboratory equipment, ensuring all work aligns with our rigorous Quality Management System (QMS).
- Work closely with a team of 20 lab professionals to implement new methodologies and support Business As Usual (BAU) priorities.
- Participate in onboarding and method-specific training to stay at the forefront of food science safety and laboratory technology.
- Master’s Degree (MS) in Chemistry. (Preferred)
- 2+ years of professional experience in an analytical laboratory environment.
- Hands-on experience with HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography), GC (Gas Chromatography), ICP-OES, or Ion Chromatography.
- Previous experience utilizing Laboratory Information Management Systems
- Starting pay rate of $27.50/hour.
- Standard shift is Tuesday–Saturday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Gain hands-on experience with a vast variety of analytical techniques and new methodologies.
- Successful performance in this 1-year contract role may lead to extensions or consideration for permanent Associate positions.
