Position Overview The Accounting Manager is a vital leader within a PE-backed distribution/manufacturing platform. You will oversee daily accounting operations, ensure reporting integrity, and support the integration of newly acquired businesses. This is a hands-on role for a leader who can navigate a fast-paced, multi-entity environment while mentoring junior staff and partnering with leadership to strengthen internal controls.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance; CPA or Public Accounting background preferred.
- Experience: 6–10+ years of progressive accounting in distribution, wholesale, or manufacturing.
- Technical: Advanced Excel and hands-on ERP experience (NetSuite, Dynamics, SAP, etc.).
- Traits: Self-sufficient, organized, and adaptable to "imperfect" fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Operations: Lead the monthly close for multiple locations/legal entities. Review journal entries, manage accruals, and ensure accurate cutoffs.
- Inventory & Revenue: Oversee distribution-based inventory accounting and ensure accurate GAAP revenue recognition and margin reporting.
- General Ledger: Reconcile GL accounts including bank accounts, fixed assets, prepaids, debt, and payroll liabilities.
- Team Leadership: Directly manage AP/AR specialists, reviewing work for accuracy and developing their professional judgment.
- M&A Support: Assist in migrating acquisitions onto common ERP systems and charts of accounts; support inventory validation and working capital normalization.
- Audit & Compliance: Lead audit fieldwork and collaborate across teams to resolve billing or payment discrepancies.
