Responsibilities
- Manage property tax compliance, including the preparation of returns, review of assessments, and filing protests on property valuations.
- Prepare annual reports and business licenses across multiple state and local jurisdictions.
- Reconcile monthly accounts for all transaction taxes, ensuring accuracy for Sales and Use Tax and Property Tax accounts.
- Coordinate with third-party preparers by reviewing and reconciling monthly data requests for Sales and Use Tax returns.
- Execute tax payment requests with precision, ensuring proper account coding for all transaction-related taxes.
- Develop annual budgets specifically relating to transaction tax obligations.
- Liaise with tax authorities to respond to inquiries and resolve issues regarding transaction taxes.
- Maintain a comprehensive tax calendar to ensure all filing and payment deadlines are met.
- Support the Tax Manager and CFO on Information Document Request (IDR) responses for transaction tax audits.
- Assist in the preparation of income and franchise tax workpapers as needed to support the broader finance team.
- Conduct technical tax research on emerging transaction tax issues to ensure continuous compliance and risk mitigation.
