The Role We are a premier leader in the baking industry seeking a high-caliber 3rd Shift Operations Manager to own our overnight production and packaging window. This is a high-autonomy role for a decisive leader who can command a complex manufacturing environment without daytime oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Command the Floor: Oversee all 3rd-shift Packaging and Production to ensure 100% schedule fulfillment and rigorous quality standards.
- Lead & Develop: Manage, coach, and mentor shift managers, supervisors, and hourly staff to foster a culture of accountability.
- Operational Excellence: Monitor real-time KPIs, identify bottlenecks, and implement immediate corrective actions to maintain peak efficiency.
- Safety & Compliance: Act as the ultimate steward of GMPs, SQF/BRC standards, and OSHA protocols.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive Lean initiatives to reduce waste and optimize high-speed packaging lines.
- Cross-Shift Synergy: Coordinate with Maintenance, QA, and Day-Side leadership for seamless 24-hour operations.
- Experience: 5+ years of manufacturing or production management (Food/Beverage or high-speed packaging preferred).
- Leadership: Proven history of leading large, multi-departmental teams.
- Decisiveness: A "the buck stops here" mentality with the ability to solve complex problems independently.

Responsibilities

- Oversee all third-shift Packaging and Production operations to meet production schedules and quality standards.
- Lead, coach, and develop shift Managers and supervisors, team leads, and hourly staff.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, GMPs, and company quality standards.
- Monitor production metrics, identify issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain efficiency.
- Coordinate with other shifts, production, packaging, maintenance and quality teams to ensure seamless plant operations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes and reduce waste.
- Maintain accurate records of production output, labor, and operational issues.
