We’re looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Transmission R&R Technician to remove and replace transmissions on all makes and models — FWD, RWD, AWD, and 4x4 vehicles. If you take pride in solid work and want to be part of a shop that respects technicians, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do:
- Remove and reinstall automatic and manual transmissions
- Inspect driveline and mounting components; replace worn or damaged parts
- Perform test drives and quality checks before and after each job
- Maintain clean workspaces and follow all safety procedures
- Work alongside transmission builders, service writers, and other technicians
- 2+ years of hands-on automotive experience (R&R preferred)
- Good mechanical skills and attention to detail
- Able to lift 75 lbs and work in various positions
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- ASE certifications are a plus, but not required
- Top-tier hourly or flat-rate pay (based on experience)

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Remove and replace transmissions in front-wheel drive (FWD), rear-wheel drive (RWD), all-wheel drive (AWD), and 4x4 vehicles.
- Diagnose transmission mounting and related component issues, and recommend necessary repairs.
- Inspect, repair, or replace worn transmission-related parts, including torque converters, mounts, flexplates, and driveshafts.
- Perform test drives before and after replacement to ensure proper functionality and identify any drivability issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling of tools and parts.
- Adhere to all safety standards and procedures to prevent injuries or accidents in the shop.
- Collaborate with service advisors, rebuilders, and other technicians to ensure smooth workflow and timely job completion.
- Accurately document all work performed and parts used on work orders.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in automotive transmission R&R or general mechanical work preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or ASE certification is a plus.
- Skills:
- Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge of drivetrain components
- Ability to use standard automotive tools and diagnostic equipment
- Good problem-solving and time management skills
- Physical ability to lift heavy parts and work in tight spaces
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
