What You’ll Do:
- Supervise, mentor, and lead shop technicians in daily maintenance and repairs
- Plan and enforce preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime
- Ensure compliance with DOT, state, and federal safety standards
- Manage parts inventory, track fuel usage, and control maintenance costs
- Coordinate repairs, safety meetings, and staff scheduling
- Maintain clean, safe, and efficient shop and facility operations
- Recruit, train, and evaluate maintenance staff performance
- Proven supervisory experience in fleet or industrial maintenance
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, heavy-duty vehicle repair, air brakes, welding, and diagnostics
- Ability to lead hands-on while managing shop operations
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, JDEdwards, or similar systems
- CDL Class B or ability to obtain within 6 months
- High School Diploma or GED required
- DOT certifications (air brake and vehicle inspections)
- Physically able to lift up to 100 lbs and work in a loud, sometimes harsh environment

Responsibilities
As the Maintenance Manager, you’ll take charge of a full-service fleet shop—overseeing repairs, planning preventative maintenance, and managing people, parts, and compliance. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing a team of shop technicians and support staff
- Performing hands-on repairs as needed and overseeing all shop activities
- Planning and enforcing preventative maintenance programs
- Tracking equipment conditions, maintenance schedules, and repair histories
- Ensuring compliance with all DOT, state, and federal regulations
- Managing inventory, cost controls, work orders, and parts usage
- Monitoring fuel usage, shop cleanliness, and facility upkeep
- Recruiting, onboarding, and evaluating staff performance
- Coordinating directly with operations to ensure equipment uptime
