Responsibilities
A precision manufacturing facility in Western Suffolk County is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist experienced in operating Mazak machines. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setup, operation, and inspection of CNC lathes to produce high-tolerance components. Experience with deburring is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC Mazak lathes using Mazatrol controls to manufacture precision parts.
- Adjust tooling and machine offsets to maintain quality and adherence to specifications.
- Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
- Conduct deburring and finishing of machined parts when necessary.
- Maintain machine performance and conduct routine preventative maintenance.
- Accurately record production data and follow all safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and timelines.
- 3+ years of CNC lathe experience, specifically with Mazak equipment and controls.
- Proficient with precision measuring tools and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Capable of working independently and producing consistent, high-quality work.
- Experience with deburring tools and processes is a strong plus.
- CNC programming experience is a plus, especially with Mazatrol or G-code.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred.
